For twenty years, children and young people have been taking their seats at Graffiti in Blackpool. This year, we’re inviting 55 people and organisations to take one too!

3 Activate members share a single chair on the Graffiti stage. They are perched together holding objects that cover their faces - a globe, a clock and a suitcase. The chair is framed by a bright orange backdrop and stacks of chairs litter the stage.

2026 marks 20 years since Graffiti Theatre Company made its home in Blackpool. Thousands of children and young people, artists, families and community members have come through our doors to watch, make, write, perform, and play. Graffiti is a creative home where children and young people can imagine, create, and belong.

To mark our special anniversary, we’re inviting just 55 people and businesses to Take a Seat at Graffiti with a donation of €250.

In recognition of their donation, supporters can have a name or dedication of their choice displayed on one of Graffiti’s colourful chairs for a year. This might be their own name, a family or business name, a dedication to someone special, or in memory of a loved one. Their support will help Graffiti ensure that children and young people can continue to take their seats at Graffiti too.

Our chairs at Graffiti don’t stay put. They’re pulled into circles for youth theatre workshops, tucked around tables for Write Club, and used by artists as they rehearse, create and make new, exciting and ambitious work for young audiences. They move around our building because creativity does too.

“So many incredible people pass through Graffiti. Sometimes it’s good to take a seat. To rest, to renew, to remember. To watch, to write, to witness. To daydream and make and create, and to pause before we go again.

So, we’re reaching out to our community to take a seat at Graffiti and to support all the children and young people who come through our doors.” – Niall Cleary, Artistic Director & CEO, Graffiti Theatre Company
