New Board Members Karen O’Sullivan & Sarah FitzGibbon

About Karen

With a background in sales and marketing, Karen’s curiosity for Ireland’s non-profit sector sparked after more than a decade in the corporate world. Since then, she has held senior fundraising roles with both local and national charities, building strengths in unique donor acquisition strategies, enhancing donor journeys, and forging valuable partnerships. Now self-employed, Karen is working freelance, supporting charities across Ireland by strengthening their outreach and fundraising effectiveness through good communication strategies.

Karen holds a BA in Psychology and Sociology, a foundation that provides valuable insights into donor behaviour and engagement. Committed to community-driven change, she believes strongly in good governance and the power of communities to support those in need. She is particularly passionate about encouraging and mentoring young talent to join and stay in the sector.
Karen was drawn to Graffiti’s mission to empower young people:

“Joining Graffiti’s Board of Trustees was a fulfilling decision. I was drawn to their commitment to young people and their incredible, supportive and talented team on the ground. I truly believed in their vision for a better world. I remember needing outlets like this when I was a child. All young people should be given a way to express themselves creatively and they provide a safe space for youth to explore their voices and grow in confidence Their impact on youth and the arts is a powerful reminder of the need for creative expression in a challenging and sometimes scary world. I’m thrilled to bring my experience to an already strong board dedicated to a shared vision.”
