Graffiti Strategy 2024-2028

Nov 21, 2024

We are delighted to share our new five-year strategy which crystallises the essence of Graffiti and sets out a vision for the future: theatre for every child.

As part of our 40th year celebrations, we welcome our next 5 year strategy. Over the course of the next five years, we are committed to delivering and nurturing it in order to engage many children and young people in theatre and arts experiences that give them hope for a better world. The past 40 years, has seen Graffiti create, commission and present work for, with and by children and young people aged 0-22 years.

The Graffiti journey starts at birth with our early years programme. It grows as a child does, from theatre productions and programmes in schools, to youth theatre and creative writing programmes.

Our artists are there for every step, working alongside children and young people as collaborators, makers and co-creators. It’s this exciting interaction between professional artists, children/young people that keeps us relevant, evolving and responding to the world around us.

At the launch of plan, our CEO & Artistic Director Niall Cleary said, “This strategic map was built on paths created by many intrepid Graffiti adventurers that have been trailblazers for over 40 years. We received valuable input from our Board, our partners, the young people we collaborate with, our wonderful artists and our programme leads, who create magic. Here now, we state our mission: Theatre for Every Child.”

Graffiti remains a pioneering force within our Arts Sector. Our plan ensures that Graffiti remains a beacon and a home for children and young people’s creativity in Cork city (and beyond). A place where they know they can feel safe, inspired and supported to make theatre – to be creative, to be themselves.
