Calling artists interested in being part of BEAG, our Early Years multi-disciplinary arts programme.

Dec 4, 2020

Do you want to develop young children’s curiosity, begin their lifelong relationships with creativity and artistic expression and help them to discover and delight in their own creativity?

Play-based, multi sensory and interactive arts experiences for children from birth to 3 years, Graffiti’s BEAG Early Years Arts Programme is seeking associate artists from all disciplines and backgrounds, who have a genuine interest in working with and creating for young children to join our panel of artists.

BEAG encounters have traditionally taken place in creches and childcare settings throughout Cork, as well as at public events such as festivals, libraries or at other cultural institutions. In this unprecedented year, restrictions will impact how we think about reaching this very young audience and their carers.

Experience of working with this age group is not a requirement but welcomed. All artists will be trained in the BEAG Methodology and continuous professional development opportunities will be offered.

English will be the working language but need not be your first language.

We are interested in meeting creatives from the sciences, architecture, digital practices, music, dance, visual art, poetry, theatre, sound art, forest school and all strands of the aforementioned disciplines.

Shortlisted applicants will be interviewed mid January and those successful at interview stage will form the BEAG artists panel for 2021. Training and induction will commence in early February, dates will be finalised with the panel. Artists will be contracted on a project-to-project basis.

Please send your CV with a cover letter or short video (2 mins max) outlining why and how you would like to work with this very young audience. You are welcome to include images of your work to support your application.

BEAG is run by Graffiti in partnership with Cork City Arts Office, Cork County Arts Office, HSE South and the Arts Council.
