Apply for our FREE ‘We Create the World’ programme, thanks to funding from the RTÉ Toy Show Appeal.

Our ‘We Create the World’ programme includes an audio drama, set design mentoring and materials, drama workshops, an opportunity for your class to perform on the stage at Graffiti and a scholarship for 1 child per class group to attend Activate Youth Theatre.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Teachers and their 3rd, 4th, or 5th class groups in DEIS primary schools in Cork city.
The selected classes will need to be able to commit to taking part in ALL elements of the ‘We Create the World’ programme, which includes:

Participating teachers will partake in a Zoom on September 22nd.
Each class will:
Listen to a specially recorded audio drama called ‘You and Me and The Space Between’ by Finnegan Kruckemeyer.
Watch an instructional video series by Deirdre Dwyer on Set Design to inspire pupils to get creative.
Partake in 3 mentoring sessions with established artists to make their own set design boxes and create the world of ‘You and Me and The Space Between’. (Materials included).
Complete 10 drama workshops with a professional artist to create a theatre response to ‘You and Me and The Space Between.’
Perform and celebrate their work on a specially built theatre set at Graffiti Theatre in Blackpool, in May 2023.
Avail of one scholarship per class group for a student to join our Activate Youth Theatre (beginning in Sept 2023 at Graffiti Theatre in Blackpool).
